George Pelecanos

Noted jazz critic Howard Mandel recently lent me some George Pelecanos novels. Burning through them and glad they're around.

Never been a devoted crime/mystery reader. Just kept hearing about Pelecanos' books and knew of him as an important producer and writer for The Wire.

Great outtakes interview with Pelecanos here.

didn't realise pelicanos had written for the wire. I love his books, and the way he writes so enthusiastically about the music his characters listen too. I gave up my wire subscription about 3 years ago, what has he written about there?

Hey Harris -

Read this 'between books', and saw 'Right as Rain' in the charity shop that morning on the way to teach. Fun stuff!

Don't *think* we've got Wire over here yet...looks cool...

Hope all's good!
